Hood River, Oregon is a nice city to spend some time in.  Located along the Columbia River and also it’s namesake Hood River there is a surprisingly diverse list of things to do and see.  It is well known for being an active city with some of the best spots for windsurfing, kite-surfing, kayaking, skiing and mountain biking.  There are a number of wineries and breweries, as well as shops, museums, and restaurants for the less adventurous.

Hood River is the start of 13 scenic miles along old highway 30 following the Columbia River Gorge and includes the famous Multnomah Falls.  Located within close proximity to Mt. Hood, there are plenty of great hiking opportunities as well.

On our trip we stopped in to Full Sail Brewing Co. for lunch.  It is a local employee owned and operated brewery.  The menu wasn’t anything overly unique but it was well prepared.  The beer was tasty and the service was fast and friendly even with as busy as they were.

I know I say this about almost all of the places I’ve been, but Hood River is one area I see as being high on the list of a repeat visit.
