With spring battling for it’s foothold I thought a venture into nature might be nice. Hocking Hills is located in the southeast quadrant of Ohio; about an hour from Columbus and a little under three hours from Cincinnati. To date I have been on five cruises and I highly recommend them. Of the five, four have been on Royal Caribbean and one on Carnival. I do plan some day to branch out and try another cruise line or two, but the benefits with picking a cruise line and sticking with it increase with each cruise you take. Most, if not all cruise lines offer memberships that are earned with each passing vacation you take with them. (more…)

Campbell Lake
My feet are screaming for flip flops and it’s still in the 30’s outside so I thought I’d close my eyes and remember a time when my feet were in the sand to help combat the cold. Thanks to the Olympics, it seems only appropriate that Vancouver be the next topic of choice. To be honest this is one of those places that has always been in the back of my mind as a place I’d like to visit, but I don’t know much more about it other than it seems like a beautifully enchanting place. Nor is it one of those places that immediately jumps to mind when someone asks for places I’d like to go for vacation. (more…)

The first National Park declared in the United States is Yellowstone, established in 1872 with the help of President Ulysses S. Grant. It covers three states and is home to the famous Old Faithful geyser. As I understand it, there are currently 58 National Parks (keep in mind there are other monuments, memorials, and numerous other areas of land the park service presides over along with these parks).
