From the Road: Benziger Vineyard

When we left Beltane Ranch our first stop was Benziger Vineyard.  It is a beautiful vineyard with impressive landscaping, most if not all of which is part of their sustainable agriculture process.  Benziger practices biodynamic, organic, and sustainable farming methods.  They are a family oriented vineyard with several generations involved in various stages of the process. From the Road: Monterey

We didn’t have much time to spend in Monterrey but we did stop for lunch at a little roadside, walk up restaurant at the corner of Ocean View Boulevard and Eardley Avenue, Archie’s American Diner.  There was a sit down counterpart as well, but the walk up window allows for either on the go eating or kicking back on their patio.  The area is surrounded by parking meters.  (more…)

From the Road: Condors

We spent a good deal of time not only looking down while in the Big Sur region but also up to the sky.  We were hoping to catch a glimpse of a Condor.  Within Andrew Molera State Park is The Ventana Wildlife Society Research and Education Center, established in January 1992.  We stopped in to learn a little about these creatures and learned they weren’t what we expected.  (more…)

From the Road: Point Lobos State Reserve

Only about 5-10 minutes from Tickle Pink Inn is Point Lobos State Reserve.  This reserve covers not only the land you can walk on but also reaches out to cover roughly 775 acres of the ocean.  This submerged portion of the reserve has recently been added to a total of 5.36 square miles of ocean to now form the Point Lobos State Marine Reserve.  Scuba and free diving is allowed within the preserve.  (more…)
