Beach outside of Radisson Melbourne, Florida.
Recently we went to Melbourne, Florida and stayed in the Radisson. A good friend of mine was having her wedding there. I have great things to say about the Radisson. To start the staff was friendly and helpful, the entrance and reception area were bright and clean. Every room has not only an ocean view but a surprisingly spacious balcony too! (more…)

When I was between my junior and senior years of high school I went on a trip to Europe which included a brief stop in Toledo, Spain (it is not pronounced like the city in Ohio, the “e” has a hard “a” sound). Centrally located in the country not far from the capital city of Madrid, this was easily my favorite place of the trip. (more…)

We were planning on heading to a beach for our next vacation but randomly decided to switch gears and head up to New England to catch the end of the fall foliage. So we’ll be arriving just after peak tourist season ends (right after Columbus Day). Our plan is to fly into Boston, MA because we can get a direct flight that will only be about two hours long. Two thumbs way up for short, direct flights! Our flight lands early so we are going to pick up a rental car and take our time making our way out of the city and up I-95 towards our final destination of Bar Harbor, ME and Acadia National Park. All of our family vacations involved a road trip. We didn’t fly for a vacation until I was somewhere in my teens. And these days it is still more cost effective (in most situations) than hopping on a plane. OK, show of hands…how many of you have tried white water rafting? It has been quite awhile for me but I had a blast and hope to give it another shot before this summer is over (lucky for me I have a friend who is a river guide ;)). When I was about 12 we took a family white water rafting trip on The New River in West Virginia. There are a number of different tour companies you can hitch a ride with and to be honest I don’t remember which one we used. (more…)
