Hocking Hills

With spring battling for it’s foothold I thought a venture into nature might be nice.  Hocking Hills is located in the southeast quadrant of Ohio; about an hour from Columbus and a little under three hours from Cincinnati.  Unlike many of my previous posts, there really isn’t much to talk about with respect to history or food, this is about relaxation and adventure. National Parks

The first National Park declared in the United States is Yellowstone, established in 1872 with the help of President Ulysses S. Grant.  It covers three states and is home to the famous Old Faithful geyser.  As I understand it, there are currently 58 National Parks (keep in mind there are other monuments, memorials, and numerous other areas of land the park service presides over along with these parks).  (more…)
